Family Medicine Residency, Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami
Carlos Sorzano, M.D.
I am originally from Bucaramanga, Colombia and have lived in the US since 2009. The thing that got me interested in medicine is that it’s a scientific way of doing things. I enjoy combining the scientific aspect of it with the human aspect, to apply my knowledge to helping patients improve their well-being.
You could say I’m a pretty methodical person. I like to start my day early; do the most important things first; and then end my day with the satisfaction of doing things right. So medicine is a perfect field for me.
CliniSanitas represents a new model for health care delivery. It’s focused on prevention and early detection, and it’s also focused on making it easy and convenient for patients to get the health care they need—labs, imaging and even prescription meds in one place open 7 days a week with extended hours.
The concept of “a world of health” means different things to different people. For me, it comes down to three important components: Prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy having a meal with family and friends. I’m also an avid reader and like to travel and explore new cultures whenever I can.
